Posted On Monday, September 1, 2008 at at 7:12 PM by Jullien Gordon
Mylinia isn't about who has the most friends, it's about how deep your closest friend can know you. Adding someone as a friend means letting someone into your private world. The benefits are as follows:
1. They will appear on your Friends page. Their passions will be aggregated in your friend's tag cloud so that you can see what your friends are passionate about and reach out to them for support based on their passions when you need help getting to the next level.
2. Whenever you tag something with a passion that one of your friends has, it will automatically go to all of your friends who share that passion. As a result, you support multiple people at once whenever you make a recommendation without having to think about who else you know has that passion.
3. They can see you profile if you ever take your profile off of the Fully Public privacy setting.

How are footsteps calculated?
Posted On at at 3:53 PM by Jullien Gordon
Footsteps are the currency exchange among Mylinials. They symbolize the value you have created in other people's lives through giving them support on their journey.
The Footsteps Equation is as follows...
10 FREE footsteps
+ 1x the # of supports you give
+ an additional 1, 2, or 3 footsteps the receiver gives to you based on the value of the recommendation to them*
+ 2x the # of people you forward profiles to
+ 2x the # of people that accept your invite
+ 1x the # of people you invite
+ 1x the # of times you give footsteps to one of your supporters by rating them
= TOTAL FOOTSTEPS
In order to earn footsteps, you must be logged in.
* This doesn't apply if you give supports to a passion page instead of directly to an individual

How do I support someone?
Posted On at at 6:46 PM by Jullien GordonThere are 3 ways to support someone using Mylinia.com.
1. Advise & Send a message
Based on they're showcase and support statement, you can directly sent a message to the Mylinial you want to support. The message will go to their navigation hub which is the first page they see when they log in and they will get an email notification letting them know that it is there.
2. Post & Recommend something
If you know of a website, YouTube video, or book that is relevant to the person's passions, share it! Just select the type of recommendation you want to make, type in the web address or title, and then hit post. Finally tag the passion that the recommendation is related to and write why you recommmended and hit save. The recommendation will go directly to their navigation hub and the passion page you tagged it with. NOTE: All comments are public.
3. Post & Recommend a lot of things
Instead of recommending one thing at a time, why not recommend a whole bunch. Simply click on the "+ more than 1 post" link under the "2. Post" button in the recommendation box and you will be taken to a page where you can add and submit as many recommendations as you want all at once. It's easier, faster, and friendlier. Try it out.
What does Mylinia mean?
Posted On Friday, July 11, 2008 at at 1:36 PM by Jullien GordonMylinia is our spelling of millennia. According to Wikipedia...
A millennium (pl. millennia) is a period of time equal to one thousand years (from Latin mille, thousand, and annum, year). The term may implicitly refer to calendar millennia; periods tied numerically to a particular dating system, specifically ones that begin at the starting (initial reference) point of the calendar in question (typically the year 1) or in later years which are whole number multiples of a thousand years after it.
We want to impact the next millennia by helping the millennial generation become the greatest generation to ever live.
Also:
If you break down the word my-lin-nia it sounds like my line or my lineage. We are trying to help people leave a legacy with their lives that will endure forever.
Lastly:
Nia (the last parte of mylinia) means purpose in Ki-Swahili . In other words, mylinia also means my line to my purpose.
Pretty deep huh!
